“So many others have faced brutal abuse in secret, in silence. This book is for you.”
The only book I ever wanted to write, about escaping brutality, insanity, violence and hell and then trying to make a life out of a very damaged childhood. There were/are millions like me, secretly trapped like animals. My book is about many things, but most importantly, never defending myself at home, and the toll that took.

Outside of that house, I was constantly violent, fighting back when threatened by older kids, unable to ignore a challenge and unable to find a place for myself in a public grammar school. Afflicted with major allergies at a time when there was no cure, for two summers my parents sent me to rural Michigan for two months, where the agony of all the pollen of a zillion plants an no escape sent me to hell.

Surviving all of this madness gave me some steel in my spine, but at the time where I felt misplaced everywhere, I didn't know about that, until later. It would take years before there were effective drugs for damned souls like me.
